Helsinki Info Kiosk

The kiosk features a reduced formal language and uses current technology. It is more of an information device than a building. The whole front facade can be opened completely by means of two hatches equipped with electrical linear actuators. This way, even bigger groups of people can be received in the small kiosk. At the same time, the upper hatch forms a roof covering the entrance area. The kiosk is manned by one tourist information centre employee at a time. Tourist information and maps are available both on paper and digitally.

The facades are constructed of glass blasted corrosion resistant steel, on which graphical elements have been painted. The construction consists of laser welded steel sandwich panels, while oiled birch wood is used for the interior and integrated furniture. The shiny green colour of the service desk is part of the Helsinki tourist office visual identity.

The kiosk's back facade features a back-lit aerial photograph of Helsinki's city centre.
