Všechny velké stavby minulosti měly svůj ikonologický program, který byl alfou a omegou jejich finální podoby a který dnes historici umění složitě luští na základě smělých hypotéz. Obnova slavonické Besídky takový ikonologický program dostala do vínku, jako šťastný základ budoucí spolupráce investora a architekta. Hlavním problémem při úpravě byla otázka umístění další vertikální komunikace. Původní záměr vestavění točitého schodiště byl památkáři vetován z důvodů metodicky nepřijatelného průrazu renesanční klenby. Variantní řešení přístavby nové schodišťové věže do dvora se však nakonec ukázalo šťastným. Fascinující spirála litinových schodů zapuštěných do obvodových zdí doplňuje originálně tvarované zábradlí z různě dlouhých železných plátů v mírně agresivním modrém barevném provedení. Dokonalou iluzi nekonečného prostoru umocňuje rovná skleněná střecha s průhledem do nebe a osvětlení pod jednotlivými stupni, které ve svém výsledku kombinují v nekonečných variantách a v závislosti na proměnách denní a noční doby atmosféru, která schodiště povyšuje na originální výtvarné a designerské dílo. V patře nalezneme žlutý pokoj Manželky národů, s obnovenými renesančními výklenky a pilíři a zejména krásným trojpásovým oknem. V jeho sousedství, v prostorách které svými křížovými hřebínkovými klenbami v hloubkovém rytmu připomínají sakrální prostor, je potom pokoj s osově umístěným oltářem nočního stolku a s laděním v malinové červeni. Konečně v posledním podlaží je situován tzv. mexický pokoj, který nejvíce ze všech ctí původní dispozici půdy, a v kolmém krátkém křídle nečekané překvapení: pozorovatelna s panoramatickými výhledy po střechách historické rezervace. Architekt se tu nesnaží vložit vlastní "kosmologii", ale navázat na původní charakter a dále jej poetickým , výtvarně ambiciózním způsobem vyvíjet. The prior history of the building, No. 522, stretches back, like the other similar structures in the landmark historic core of Slavonice, far into medieval times. Originally a Gothic house, thoroughly rebuilt and expanded in the Renaissance, it underwent significant interior changes in the Rococo era and was subjected to other utilitarian rebuildings at later points.All great buildings of past eras had their iconological programme, the alpha and omega of their final form, which present-day art historians must reconstruct with difficulty on the basis of audacious hypotheses. The renewal of Slavonice's Besídka had from the outset such an iconological programme, as the fortunate basis for the future cooperation of investor and architect. Most problematic in the renovation was the question of where to position a new vertical communication route. The original plan of inserting a spiral staircase was vetoed by the preservation board, on the grounds that it would inappropriately disturb the integrity of the Renaissance vaulting. The alternative of constructing a new staircase tower in the courtyard was eventually found to be the most fortunate. The fascinating spiral of the cast-iron steps inserted into the surrounding walls is supplemented by the striking formation of the balustrade, using iron plates of various lengths in a slightly aggressive blue shade. Further underscoring the illusion of endless space is the flat glass roof offering a view to the sky and the lighting under the individual risers, which in the end combine together in an infinite variety of variations and, depending on the time of day, create an atmosphere elevating the staircase to the status of an individual artwork. In the upper floor, we find the yellow "Wife of the Nations" room, with restored Renaissance oriels and pillars, and particularly a beautiful triple-mullioned window. Adjoining it, in the space where the cross-ribbed arches in their deepening rhythm recall a sacred interior, is the room, with its axially placed "altar" of the night table and colour tones of raspberry red. At the very end, in the last floor is the "Mexican room" , the most faithful to the original attic disposition and offering an unexpected surprise in the short transverse wing: the observatory, with its panoramic views across the roofs of the historic town core.
